Brake lines : Pedders or Goodridge Phantom ?

Hi,
Title says everything.

http://www.peddersusa.com/product/Ca...s/default.aspx
http://www.stillen.com/product/brake...-v8-38297.html

What should I choose between the two ?

What are the benefits/disadvantages of each ?

That's for my 2SS/RS, for street use, and maybe track ... someday.

Thanks for your help.

not in your list, but this is what I have on mine, love them

Not sure you would go wrong with either of your choices.

I have used Goodridge and Racing Brake. Both are good lines but the Racing Brake cost significantly less.

I'm not sure of the difference between these Goodridge stainless lines and their normal standard stainless lines (besides price). However I did notice these Goodridge lines do not have the mid line mounting bracket. Maybe it's just missing in the posed photo but you'll definitely want those brackets (like pedder's shows). Otherwise you'll be dealing with tie wraps.

If you find out the differences between the two Goodridge levels and the Pedder's please post it/them. I have been trying to understand the cost difference.

You may also want to consider the manufacturing location in your decision.

Where they are manufactured should be of some concern.

Pedders is a major contributer and forum sponsor around here so i would go with those. DOT approved is a must if you start shopping for others.

Goodluck with your shopping, if you do track your car the stainless lines are a significant upgrade in safety and performance

Since I was bored I called Goodridge.

Their lines are made in Torrance, CA USA. (Kind of odd they do not put that on the box).

The ones you mention are an aesthetic upgrade over their standard stainless lines. Part # 12219. She said the fittings are a bit different but it is mostly their "exclusive" line. Think Lexus versus Toyota.

If I get bored later, I'll call Pedders.

The only real benefit of the Pedders lines over the Goodridge line is that they are slightly longer and will work down the road if you decide to do a CTS-V conversion. Other than that, color..

I suggest going with Goodridge Part # 12219. We have them in stock, and ready to ship. Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

Tyler

Thanks a lot for your investigations.

The mid line mounting bracket of the pedders is growing in me ...

Going with pedders would be for me a good way to thanks Pete for all the knowledge I learned from his posts.

We have always used Goodridge SS Lines for all of our cars.

We also use Goodridge for all of our AP Big Brake Kits.

They have been one of the top companies for decades when it comes to SS lines.

PM or Call me with any questions.

Thanks

JT
