fuse pull question, really confusing?
So i'm fiddling around with the #8 exhaust fuse in the truck, and am a little stumped. here are my results:
Fuse In: -outside exhaust flaps open at idle -sounds nice -sounds like its quieter after 3k, as opposed to louder... Fuse Out: -outside exhaust flaps open at idle -sounds nice at idle -sounds the same at speeds as if fuse was in... am I missing something here, or should the outside flaps be shut during idle with the fuse still in?

flap is always open at idle no matter if the fuse is in or out

The reason for the flap is so they can pass the .gov drive by noise test. Not sure what the speed is, but it is a slow drive by test. That flapper valve allowed GM to pass the test, yet still have a pretty aggressive sound at idle and full throttle.

If you want to have both options the mild to wild works or on the cheap, I wired a circuit interupt to the fuse block and ran it up to a toggle I mounted next to the cup holder in the center console. That way if I want to be quiet during cruising I just flip the switch. IMO it's easier then messing with a remote control.
