I recently got my tail lights smoked (painted) and it looks great!!! The only problem is that now I'm paranoid anytime I go by a cop and I'm starting to regret getting them smoked.

Just wondering, have any of you with painted tail lights had to replace them with 'standard' issue because of a ticket?

I have had mine tinted for well over a year and no problem and police love my Camaro. I even have the side markers blacked out.

i have gotten pulled over 3 times for it and gotten 1 ticket. and im going to court for it tomarow to fight the ticket

I always turn on my lights when I'm driving so the tail lights glow red. It's harder to tell they're tinted. I had my tail lights tinted last April and I haven't had any problems.

Yeah just turn your halos on and the lights glow red and they wont be able to tell

Ive had my tail lights and side makers tinted for about 8 months and no issues.. Here in Houston..

Mine have been done for over 18 months so far and pulled over 3 times and never issued a ticket. Police did say I had a nice car, but be polite and it does wonders. I did have one bad experience with one officer, and he still did not give me a ticket. I even had all my side markers tinted and my windows at the time which were illegal too, but now legal as they changed the state law.

Cops arent here to hassle some guy about his tail lights being too dark. Usually they only issue a citation for it if you were stopped for excessive speeding and they just tack it on. Ive only been specifically stopped for the tint when I was in a bad neighborhood. I guess the guy thought I was a drug dealer ha, but when I rolled down my window and explained I was lost he gave me directions and sent me on my way. Like Orange5thGen said, being polite does wonders.

Really? It depends on the cop. I have had so many bad experiences with cops I've lost count. Running with my halo's on has probably save me from being ticketed, as I run that way all the time. I'm just waiting for the ticket for no front plate. I'll just pay it because no way in hell I'm ruining my cars front end with that ugly bracket.
