Need some quick advice
My son is looking to change his wheels from Chrome to black Chrome.
Anyone know a very good wheel guy in Arizona that can do this? Please only recommendations from some one who really knows because you had first hand experience or a good friend has used the shop. Any idea of cost and time to accomplish? Thanks a bunch Jim

I've heard of a place in Glendale called Kwicksilver. A buddy of mine said they can do just about anything... Especially PVD (black) chroming

He could buy black chrome wheels and sell his current ones to offset the cost....just a thought! Here's my black chrome zl1 replicas.

It's gonna be cheaper and safer to get another set of wheels and start over. Every time you chrome plate aluminum it gets weaker. They would have to strip the chrome off your existing wheels and re-chrome them which is an extra step that will cost more.
If you can't find a place in AZ, there's always Classic Components in CA, they do an awesome job I've dealt with them many times and they did the black chrome wheels on my Ninja.

Black Chrome comes in all different shades, although I've never really seen anyone give options. You are gonna say these wheels are regular chrome too. When they get a little dusty is when it really stands out, or when it's not so bright out.

I'm with you 138, looks like black chrome to me. I've done hundreds of runs in black chrome, and that's what it looks like.

Yes, that is a version of black chrome too. It depends on the Plater to determine shade.

I'm with homeless on this. Call it black chrome, but if you went up to most people and asked their opinion they would most likely not say that's black chrome. What's the point of black chrome if it looks exactly like this...
