It's a state organization. Sorta local.

At least I'm not getting any phone calls requesting a donation (that I know of, anyway . . . maybe I didn't provide a phone number?).

What I get instead are emails promoting lifetime membership. I let the extension on the latest one expire a couple of days ago; being 69-1/2 I can't realistically make the numbers work even with the $900 promo. If I'm still an active shooter into my 90's, well, I guess they'll make a few $.

Still waiting on NJ for handgun purchase permits.

On edit, maybe it's a good thing for the smaller organizations that the NRA is the more politically visible group.

That is a nice shotgun! Remind me of my remington 1100 competition with synthetic stock and shock absorbing stock. Although that is a benelli and twice the money! Did you buy it to shoot trap or skeet? Curious when you get it what you think of the gun.

Sporting Clays gun?

Benelli makes some tough, reliable and soft shooting shot guns. Wish I could rationalize one for the one to two times a year I shoot SC.

As a person who is ignorant of most things shotgun, why does it have that extra rail on the top of the barrel? I've seen that on others, but never knew why they have those.

On shotguns, it's called a 'rib' (a 'ventilated rib' in mlee's picture). Some say it helps you put your eye where it needs to be, others claim lower distortion from heat rising off a hot barrel in competition.

There was an AR discussion a few pages back. Many consider them evil and having no use other than to cause mayhem.

Last week my neighbors big tomcat got taken by a coyote. Right out of her back yard. She's 3/4 of a mile from me. Older cat, good mouser and friendly.

Few days ago at near dark ,two of our cats are in the yard, when I see a coyote hunkered down in the newly cut field. Stalking towards my cats. I keep one of the AR's always ready to go and handy. Grabbed it right as the Border Collie started barking at the coyote. I called her and got to the Honda Pilot parked in the drive.

The coyote was 153* yds away looking at me in the field. One well placed 50 gr V-Max and he dropped where he stood. Never moved. * used my range finder.

Next day I gathered him up. A big male. He was 46" tip of tail to tip of nose. But the most notable feature; THIRTY TWO pounds. Most coyotes are light, few more than 20-25 pounds, most smaller.

Yeah it's much maligned, and wrongfully labeled an "assault rifle". But it handily protected my property in good style.

I heart all my ARs. They multiply like rabbits, though.

I think there are two that aren't pictured here. I've moved optics around and acquired new optics since the pic. I now have more optics than ARs so I have to get more.
Top gun is an LMT MWS in 308. It was wearing a super sniper scope in the picture but now wears a Browe 4x32 with blue reticle

Middle row (L to R):
Daniel Defense lower with Centurion Arms upper (DD barrel). LaRue MBT trigger, Griffin Armament M4SD flashcomp (love those things) Wearing an aimpoint T1 with EOTech magnifier in picture but is currently wearing a Vortex Venom. A Vortex UH-1 was preordered for it. It is my work gun.

LRB arms lower with DD V7LW upper with PWS comp. It has an EOTech XPS with EOTech magnifier on it. It is my son's rifle and he didn't want to send the EOTech back for a refund.

DPMS lower with upper consisting of ALG rail and a stainless Denny's guns Recon II mid length barrel cut to 14.5" with a YH phantom FH. Has an Aimpoint H1 on it.

LMT MRP (LM8 slickside) SBR with 12" piston with GA M4SD. LMT doesn't offer this so I made one. It has an AR gold trigger and an LWRC UCIW stock on it. It now has the Aimpoint T1 on it. The TRS in the picture is now on my truck gun.

Bottom row:
LMT MWS in 6.5 Creedmoor. 24" Bartlein 5R barrel with Surefire brake on it. It was rebarreled by GAP. It wears a Bushnell HDMR 3.5-21 scope in ARC rings. It has a Geissele SSA-E trigger and now has a LUTH AR stock on it instead of the UBR. That rifle shoots a lot better than I can.
