Clutch question help
Whenever I try (rarely) to do a decent launch on my car I'm getting a burning clutch smell, even if I launch at. 3k and let the clutch out fast and have the car bog down a bit it still smells like the clutch got burnt. Driving around town it doesn't smell and doesn't feel like it's slipping. Is my clutch just getting worn out and that's why it smells on "easyish" launches? Never used to do it before and it now has 29000km on stock clutch. Any advice would help. Thanks

it's normal
you're just smelling it more because of the "vented bellhousing" and tbh due to very narrow clutch engagement area and high clutch engagement pedal high "it's very easy to smell the clutch" |

Interesting, at 30k miles I'm starting to experience the same. It doesn't feel like its slipping but on simple launches the smell is noticeable. Local speed shop (without driving it) told me not to worry about it and said to test it get on the highway and in 4th or 5th gear do a hard acceleration. They said if the clutch is going out I would feel (or see if watching the RPMs) the slippage - which I don't.
What are the signs, if its not smell, that would show clutch failure?
