clutch releases high, dealer gives odd info

Hey guys, I have an Ls3 with the 6speed. I took the car to the dealer to have them check out a noise the car was making. The tech drove the car and noticed the clutch released very high, which I agree with. He said that the pressure plate has an "alignment" that can be tweaked if the car is launched. He said it is common of these tranny's if they are beat on. He said a new pressure plate should probably fix the problem. The car only has 18K on it.
Any ideas about this.

Both my GXP and my SS release high which I love. Wouldn't worry about it unless the clutch starts slipping or the noise is loud. He is somewhat correct on the pressure plate. Its not self aligning but self adjusting on height. When driven hard sometimes the pressure plate will lock up which is the root cause of a sticking pedal. The pedal does what the pressure plate does. If it doesn't release The pedal will only return to the point of were the pressure plate locks up.

Do you know of any way I can lower the release point? It drives me nuts. I have not called Tick performance yet to inquire about their clutch master, they do not list one for this new of an application.
Thanks for the response.

Why does it bother you? You can just blip the clutch to make shifts quicker with it high.

Just personal preference. My old Subaru was the same way and it drove me nuts. I guess I am just human and like to complain, pretty sweet car otherwise.
