Geico hated my 4th gen Z28. Kept raising my premium for no reason (no claims or tix). Eventually I had to change companies.

This all sounds like a Geico commercial but hey if it saves money its worth it. I think I might look into that.

I was paying over 1300$ for 6 months for the bare minimum "full coverage" for my 2SS (23 years old, about to turn 24, last "infraction" was back in 2005). Now I pay 690$ (it just dropped 7 more dollars this morning when I picked up a ford ranger for a beater truck) for 6 months and it literally took him less than 15 minutes to set me up with coverage, and get me an online account. LIFE IS FREAKIN GOOD!

If there is anyone else out there that has neglected shopping around every so often for difference policies..TRY it..now im saving almost 1400$ a YEAR, because of a simple phone call.
For three cars I was looking at paying almost $250 a month with Farmers (who we have now). We have an absolute beater car, and my Jeep (plus the Camaro). I got a quote from Geico and am paying $783.32 for all three cars. That's about $130.00 a month (and $700+ difference over 6 months). I had Geico once a long time ago and am switching back with that new premium tonight at midnight. Been researching quotes now for a month.

Now keep in mind that quote wont last. It's the intro quote so it may go up after 6 months or a year. I'm prepared for that and plan on just rotating back and forth between insurance companies to keep getting a better rate. We left Geico for Farmers for a better rate and now going in reverse. I asked them to do better but they wouldn't (Farmers prices have been going up steadily the last few years). So their loss, my gain.

USAA has always been good to me. Not sure if they are the cheapest. But I trust them.

I know years ago when I swapped from Progressive to USAA it was a big difference. Better service, and cheaper price.

Keep in mind that four years is the magic number for most insurance places. If your with them for four years or more, the discounts really start to kick in. Another thing to keep in mind is that some places will hold an accident (or ticket) over your head longer than others. I had to go with progressive because they only hold them for three years. If I went with someone else, I would be paying for my accident for another two years (some will hold them for five years). My insurance will drop about $200 in Jan of 2011. Taking it down to $650 for six months.

$1020/ 6 mo with Geico for:

2002 Impala LS
2009 Mitu Galant ES
2010 Camaro SS

300/500 bodily injury
250/500 supp uninsured
100 property damage

$250 deductibles on both Coll and Comp with full glass coverage (no deduct) all three vehicles.

Of the total, the Camaro is $362.40 every 6 months; and surprisingly, the Galant is exactly the same even though all the individual totals are different.

Fawk Geico.

when i had them and got into an accident (Not my fault) they didnt want to pay the shops hourly rate so they wanted me to pay. Top of that, the shope guy called me and said they wouldnt cover OEM parts if there were cheaper parts out there.

If thats what you want then go for it. Not worth paying less monthly when you get shitty treatment like that.

I have mercury right now (which is cheaper but i went with them, everyone ive talked to who had them had zero problems getting their car fixed..fasttt) and they've been nothing but good to me. I have 3 cars and 2 drivers on mine and pay a little above 1800 per year.

hope this helps.

It's good to shop around if you aren't happy with your rates, but I honestly don't think we'd find enough cheaper to justify leaving Farmer's. I've been with them for years, and filed claims through them, and I've never had a problem or a rate increase. That, and they've never dropped my defensive driving credit even though its been over two years since I took it
My dad has a perfect driving record and hes been with farmers for years too and when my camaro came in they told me it would be like $650 - $750 for six months and the coverage was crap...but my dad and I decided to shop around and we now pay $257 for six months on my camaro and its has better benefits too...you might want to check around and see if you can find something better...we thought we were getting a good deal with our other cars but we were wrong and im glad we switched to a different company when the camaro came in...

Funny thing is that if you go through USAA and don't meet their eligibility requirements- basically having someone military in the family- they refer you to Progressive.

I wonder how many of you who are so happy with your bargain rates have yet to file a claim. That's when you find out what any insurance company is made of...

Funny... I was in line at a collision center listening to a guy on the phone fighting w/ his insurance company to get his car fixed right.

When it was my turn... the collision guy said we always have problems w/ that company. I asked him about my company and he said best ever to deal with and I would never have ANY problems w/ a claim and I haven't. Even my homeowners insurance was awesome w/ the hurricaine damage we got...

USAA Rocks...
