Bluetooth OBDII Scanner

I recently purchase a Bluetooth OBDII Scanner for $30 off Ebay and a bluetooth compatible companion app (torque)for my Android phone from the android market. All I can say is OMG! This program ROCKS! It's a customizable OBD2 ECU performance/diag tool that uses Bluetooth ELM/OBD/PLX adapters to connect to your car engine management system. You can look at parameters such as fuel status, secondary air status, fuel & air status, raw data, altitude, speed, rpm, trip distance, 0-100mph time, 0-60 time, 1/4 mile time, 1/8 mile time, ambient air temp, barometric pressure, coolent temp, engine load, RPM, fuel level, fuel pressure, fuel trim, horsepower, air intake temp, intake manifold pressure, mass airflow rate, throttle position, timing advance, torque, voltage and the list goes on. It also logs OBD codes and you can also clear them!

You can see this item on ebay just search for bluetooth obd. The app is free on the Android market and I think there is a similar app at the iphone store.

There are several for iPad/iPhone/iPod I use a wifi obdii connector that allows me to view realtime ECM data. It is very cool on my iPad and very large too. More importantly I can run engine diagnostic and clear engine codes if need be.

I also just purchased the Torque app for my HTC Evo 4G and the Orange/Blue Bluetooth OBDII ELM327 1.4 Wireless Scanner from Ebay for $30. I am looking forward to testing this out. I have also found a number of additional free apps that can work on my PC connected to this Bluetooth Adapter or a USB OBDII Adapter, which I may purchase in the future.

TC88HOG, which OBDII Bluetooth Adapter did you get? Have you had a chance to try the (HUD) Heads Up Display feature? Not sure if thats in the Torque (Free)?

I have included a link for the Torque app home page and links for some OBDII Bluetooth Adapters. You can also buy the adapters on Ebay. You can get the Torque App from the Andriod Market on your Phone

bcooper....I bought the one that does OBD II WIRELESS 327 Bluetooth Scanner Can Bus for $24.99 + shipping from AMAISHOP on Ebay. I have not had a chance to try out the HUD feature yet but I see no real need for it either. I mount the Droid to the underside of my radar detector and have full view of the screen while the torque program is operational.

The Bluetooth adapter will work on any car from 1995 to pres. OBDII is an industry standard.

So I have the ELM327 bluetooth adapter and I cant get it to work.. It connects to my droid X but wont pair. Anybody know anything I may be able to try to get it to pair?? If it helps only the red light stays lit after they all blink for a second or 2.
