Question Which Gas Station

I always get premium at Gulf for my SS, but do you notice that one gas station gives you better mileage? I heard Chevron is good but none are around me. I would have no problem paying a little extra if it means extra mileage....

Shell is good gasoline. You can't go wrong with it. Now, if you could afford non-ethanol gasoline, that would be the ticket!

When I had a scanmaster on my LT1, I noticed I got the least amount of knock with BP gas. Sunoco is also pretty good stuff.

If I ever get questionable gas, I head over to a station that has 100 unleaded and throw a gallon in.

I was actually curious about this as well because I have Hess around here that have premium around 3.53/gal, but then there are BP's and Exxon's that sell for 3.74/gal.

Shell is usually in between.

Yea, I always figured it's a mixed bag. We have had a lot of gas stations issues in my suburbs. Years ago, a gas station was shut down for putting "additives" in the gas to stretch their supply. Really shadey stuff.

Knock is always one of the things I have on display when I have a scan gauge. "knock on wood" (I know, I'm hilarious), I haven't had a single degree of knock on my LS3. I think the sensors are less sensitive than the LT1 days, but being supercharged I don't like to mess around.

100 unleaded is a pretty penny, but I get a little MPG and the piece of mind is well worth it imo.
