WOW...(Insurance)

Well after helping me install my exhaust yesterday, my friend decided he was going to do ANOTHER good deed and get me a quick quote on auto insurance since he works at Geico. Long story short :

I was paying over 1300$ for 6 months for the bare minimum "full coverage" for my 2SS (23 years old, about to turn 24, last "infraction" was back in 2005). Now I pay 690$ (it just dropped 7 more dollars this morning when I picked up a ford ranger for a beater truck) for 6 months and it literally took him less than 15 minutes to set me up with coverage, and get me an online account. LIFE IS FREAKIN GOOD!

If there is anyone else out there that has neglected shopping around every so often for difference policies..TRY it..now im saving almost 1400$ a YEAR, because of a simple phone call.

That is almost exactly what I'm paying, but I only have the v6, so nice find from your friend! (however I'm 24 too, but I was at fault on an accident 1yr ago on my last car)

If you're a dude, your insurance should drop again at 25

It's good to shop around if you aren't happy with your rates, but I honestly don't think we'd find enough cheaper to justify leaving Farmer's. I've been with them for years, and filed claims through them, and I've never had a problem or a rate increase. That, and they've never dropped my defensive driving credit even though its been over two years since I took it

Yeah my insurance dropped $13 over 6 months period for full coverage, going from an 06 LT cobalt to my 1LT v6 camaro. It's ~650 for the 6 months, Progressive. I was shocked when I got a quote from progressive online that it would go down! 25 here!

It also goes down a little if you get married.

You may be saving a bit, but are you getting the same coverage, and on top of that will they help you out as much in an accident as your prior company.

I am willing to may my company more than the competitors because of the fact they bend over backwards for me. I never had escalated rates due to an accident or moving violations and they never gave me hassles when dealing with claims.

Discount insurance companies almost always provide discount service... just keep that in mind...

If available for USAA it's the only one I know of that gives great customer service for a discount price.

(My lovely wife works for Farmer's and we have USAA.... just sayin')

Liberty Mutual is $83 a month for me. Not bad for a 300+hp sports car. I'm 27.

Mercury is cheaper... Just wait till you hit the 25 mark, it'll come down even more.

I pay $35 a month, full coverage, $1000 collision deductible, $500 comprehensive.

I have a spotless driving record and multi car discounts also.

It's always nice when your insurance goes down... I was paying $666 a year for the Camaro, my policy just came up for renewel, and it dropped to $455 a year. I'm 25, last ticket was in 04.
