Change your Cabin Air Filter

It REALLY makes a difference!

I just changed mine today (good luck finding an auto parts store around here that has one).

Previous owner must have smoked in the car a few times with recirc on? The smell of smoke very faintly came from the vents. Checked the cabin air filter yesterday and it was NASTY! And guess what else... smelled like smoke!

Installed the new one today and vuala! Smells like new car again

Under the hood, easy to change.

Ebay less than 15 bucks shipped to the house.

Changed mine yesterday after having the original one for 20,000 miles. Haven't driven it yet with the A/C on, so no word on a difference just yet. But there should be one, considering my old filter was super dirty compared to the new one, lol

Amazon has the TYC cabin filters for $11.50 with free super saver shipping. Granted you need to spend another $13.50 for the free shipping though.

Just Google "TYC cabin filter"

This is what a new one next to a 21,000 mile one looks like.

There is a WIX replacement too that should be easier to find locally.

Changed mine yesterday. It's the second time I've changed it since I've had the car. If your new car smell is gone and you miss it, I suggest a new cabin air filter! The smell coming through the vents (with recirculate off) reminds me of when I got the car new!

Shop around, too. Napa auto parts had 4 in stock and quoted me 39.99. Advance auto parts said they could have one in the next day for 21.99. I went with the latter.

Just for fun , try this . First put in a new cabin filter and crank the ac and see how it feels ,then remove it and try again . You get much more air flow without it . Now you say it filters out dust and pollen . But if you ever roll down your windows ............
Your ac will blow harder and colder without the cabin filter .
