CAI INSTALL
when i installed my halltech,,,i put some of the rubber sticky back on the area where the front weather strip where the front hood seal stops to continue it to the back of the strip on the box itself. i noticed in pics that none else does it that way. it leaves the outside edge open. do you know something i dont?? the right side of the box to the back of the box on top of the fender. input on that. thx dan

i dont have any pics and after reading my own post i could have written it better sorry. on the drivers fender lip,,i extended the front rubber cowl seal where it stops in the middle of the new intake box. now it doesnt have that open area toward the out side of the fender. after seeing quite a few pics on here and havent seen anyone do the same,,is there a reason for it??

I'm still not understanding where you are talking about. You should post up some pics showing the gap that you are questioning. Or, call Jim over at Halltech and ask him directly.

not to good on the computer for pics,, have to wait for my son to help me. on your question,,,the rubber seal on top of the box,,,still with me? the cars rubber cowl seal coming across the front of the car going around the front top of the air box,,,,still there. it stops short of going to the back of the air box where the hood seals. no one seems to be extending the rubber seal to go to the back of the box and meet up with the rubber seal on the back top of the new air box to seal the top all the way around. its maybe not neccessary but thats what i did,, i extended the rubber,,, just wondering why no one else has done it. best i can do for an explanation...thx i guess its just a stupid question. probably why nobody has answered. if so sorry.

Your instincts are right. You want to seal it as tight as you can to keep hot engine air from entering the intake while moving. So any improvements you can do there can only help.
