LOL... take a day and drive down and meet up with one of the CamaroVans at their hotel location. Then drive in with them the next day... We stop at the Casinos..

Or better yet drive to where a big CamaroVan is having lunch on their way in. Join them for a meal and then on in with the final leg.

Stop being so childish. If the venue moves every year, you have a chance to reach the members that can't make it to Indy or whatever the location was the year before.

My point is that while it might take 5-6 years, if the venues rotate, there's at least a chance to have it in a different area of the country and thereby reaching those people that can't drive very long distances.

But caps are fun! Secondly, laughing is the quickest way to victory in a battle of opinions...

2k miles each way, figure cost of gas out there (CA has some of the highest gas prices $4+/gallon) extra hotel costs along the way, taking time off work, and food on the road.....then add cost of hotels once we get to Indy, cost of entry, food. It's not feasible for a lot; for me it would mainly be taking time off work, which lots of people have to deal with.

There's not a snowball's chance in hell I'll be able to talk the wife into this. Mainly, would cost too much $, too much time off from work, etc. Life just would not allow.

:(

Well luckily, most of your drive wouldn't be in Cali. Gas would get cheaper as you get away from Cali. You're right about everything though. It's going to be an expensive road trip for anyone on the west coast.

My road trip from Dallas to Vegas and back in 2010 cost about $500 just in gas. Add in another $500-600 for food and lodging and you've got a nice little expense for a long road trip. I figure the trip to Indy would cost me about $300-350 in gas alone.

I always wondered what it might cost. I also would be towing my car, so cost of diesel gas, and my girlfriend would be driving her car as well, so with 2 cars, everything starts to add up fast. (I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but its something extra I would have to take care of).
