That's a mighty massive cherry!

I completely agree. I won't say no to higher horsepower - but 400 hp will satisfy me, and if that comes in the "entry level" V8, I wouldn't go a step up to get more. If I feel I need it - which'll be hard to feel , I'll Procharge it!

I'm divided on the S/C issues. I don't think have forced induction is cheating or anything like that, or that you can not compare a N/A motor to S/Ced pme, but there is just something satisfying about saying my car has this or that ALL MOTOR.

In the end though it is about what you are putting to the ground even if it is a TT 3.0L 4 banger.

3Whitrag...poor guy... You know he wants to talk, but simply can't. If you read back through his posts, click on member name, find all posts, etc, you'll be taken to all his posts. He won't say anything flat out, but has given hints in certain directions.

I don't think he's a poor guy at all... he has all the info we all want and you know he just sits back and laughs at some of the posts he sees. I understand he can't talk no matter how much he wants too, but I don't have to like it. I just thought hearing nothing at all said a good bit as well.

I can see what you are saying in a way...he's actually rich with information and loves hearing us speculate. Hopefully, he'll drop in here soon and point us in a direction.

I'm sick of seeing people speculate pricing GM has SAID that it would be priced to compete with the mustang... enough said... of course you won't get a 1200 hp monster for that.. but look at the cobra... yup there is one for your super camaro priced accordingly. the base mustang for under 30 k doesn't have 400 hp either!

This is new news...I never expected Whiterag to respond. and I don't want to pressure him into doing so, either. He's a good guy and has hinted for us quite a bit so far - leave him alone. As good as info is, it's better to keep your mouth shut if GM wants you to. I don't like weasles, even if I do like their info.

I for one, am satisfied with this article. Untill NAIAS, or even pre-NAIAS speculation in a couple months, I have a feeling we're gonna have to sit tight, and search the web with a fine-toothed comb for info.

not the right thread - but I'm gonna try not to touch that pricing comment.

Has anybody been sufing lately, and seen almost all the other Camaro sites speculate on a 500 hp Camaro? Yet, not many are talking about this new engine lineup...That site, Mobile magazine, that MerF posted a while back - said that Camaro will be pushing 500 hp. Well, they're all jumping on this.

I highly doubt it, and I highly doubt that Site's credibility. But it could prove to be an interesting discussion, no?

The answers to some of these questions (which technically haven't been verified) are right here in our forum. You just need to know where to look. I mean, it took me about 2 min and I found numerous posts....and they are from a credible source. 500hp? I think it's very possible. Maybe even more.

I don't really need to get the 500 hp monster. You could probably just get the LS3, then buy some upgrades to get you to 500hp, then spend the leftover money on something else

Hey Fellas!

I'm a corvette fan (obviously) but i'm really interested in this new camaro. Honestly.. it looks more agressive than a corvette and probably thousands cheaper.. i doubt you're going to see a 500hp (factory) camaro. Wasn't this thing a head to head fighter with ford mustangs?? I'd look for a 350hp camaro and leave the factory 500 to the corvette. If they match this to the beloved vette in factory horses.. you're going to have some pissed off owners! I look forward to a good time in these forums... lata!
