Upgrade my 35th LE

I just picked up my 2002 at the end of March. I love the power but I want more. I would like to have the SLP stage 3 performance pack put onto the car. Being that this car was not equiped with this upgrade when built, will it take away from its 35th LE value? Should I leave it equiped the way it came?

ANYTHING you do to it going to decrease its value- even driving it. Ultimately, it's your car man, enjoy it the way you see fit. There is a certain responsibility that comes with owning one of these, but unless you plan to preserve it for showing or resale later, then go right ahead and make some respectful mods

SLP is definitely a safe choice if you want to add power and keep the car legitimate. SLP and GM worked hand-in-hand on these cars for years.

That is definitley a rare collectors Camaro and I have only seen them
in the past for sale on eBay motors and on this forum.Just doing small tasteful mods like
exhaust and headlights etc. will not necessarily decrease the value of
the vehicle because it can easily can be turned back to stock condition.
Putting alot of miles on it though or body damage will decrease the value
of it more than anything.
If I did any mods they would be SLP period.
I agree I would decide what you want to do with the car.
Either way I would definitley enjoy it though.

With only 1398 35th LE verts out there, I'd leave it stock if it were mine. I would think any mods done that can be reversed at a later date will not hurt the value of the car. The abuse a car will see with the mods will be what hurts the value.

Your car already decreased in value when the 5th Gen Camaro's came out. I have an LE as well and mines modded and will continue to be, didnt help that i bought it with 80k miles on it. So value wasnt really ever there for me. I know other guys who have LE's & LE verts and have modded them up as well.

Like mentioned, its all about what you want to do with the car. How much mileage is on the car right now?

here is ours. we bought it 3.5 years ago with 25k miles,it now has many mods but only 26.7 k miles. we will never sell it so we did'nt care about resale value with mods.

Did you buy your car as an investment or did you buy your car to drive and enjoy? If you're driving it, you're decreasing it's value. I bought mine to drive and enjoy. It's a Chevrolet, not a Duesenberg. With the possible exception of the GMMG cars, none of the 4th Gen cars are going to be considered serious collector cars like the 1969 ZL-1s, Yenkos, or Baldwin- Motion cars are. It's never going to be worth enough to fund your retirement.

the car is meant to be enjoyed. drive it, mod it how you like. keep it in good condition, but do what you would enjoy most! It breaks my heart when i see truly awesome cars just sitting there not being used for their intended purpose because theyre rare. These cars are meant to be enjoyed, so do what makes you happy! make that sumbish faster!!

I say mod! i was on the fence for the longest time about modding my LE. after a while i said screw it, and did heads, cam, exhaust, stall, gears, wheels etc...... i would just keep the original parts just in case you ever want to return it to stock.

^^This^^

I have all my stock parts stored in the boxes the new parts came in. Only thing you might do if you can is build a motor on the side and store the original.
