I grin from ear to ear when you and I run together. It is SO MUCH FUN.
I am the same way, just talk to myself and yelling, YA BABY!

Not sure I am ready for the advanced group. Those boys are normally on race tires and probably that much faster then me as we are the group we are in. Still working on properly hitting the right lines, turn-in points and throttle control.

I ran in their advanced group last year. If you can run consistent unobstructed lap times in the mid 1:4X's you'll be fine. From your video it looks like you're right where you need to be.

I'll be at the Smokey's event in Akron on Saturday after the car show in Austintown. Should be on rollers around 4.
Sent from somewhere on the road.

not trying to hijack. matt had mentioned getting into helping out with instruction at events. my input on that was that its not how fast you are, its how safe you are that determines whether or not you should instruct.
im sharing this just to keep us all aware that even though we have done it many times, it is still dangerous and you can still get hurt. yall be careful and watch out for guys driving plumb over their heads. this was a hyperdrive student running his one and only session of the event. summit is dangerous anyway. i think they were running that dang jefferson course. it runs through the woods. http://www.your4state.com/story/d/st...t0W3CDbMCgcDbA |

It is Unnerving when your in the passenger seat with someone who is just learning to drive fast because you have no control. No matter how many times you say "smooth on the gas, easy out of the turn. just squeeze the peddle", it seems everyones instinct is to use the gas like a on/off switch. Most are scared to carry speed into the corner so they brake early which is fine because it shows where your comfort level is but they always over compensate the slow entry with getting on the gas to soon on exit. The most important lesson is to take the first few times out, Learn to watch and point cars (First timers tend to point cars with the wrong signals), and find the line. No tire noise no sideways stuff, just find the line and try to do so with as few gear changes as possible. Don't jump on the gas until the car is pointed down the straight after you turn. Once you know the line everywhere on the track you can start to adjust braking points, If you drift off line adjust your braking point back again. Once you find a comfort level there, you can start working with easing in to the power earlier. Again if you drift off line you know to use less next time. It all Starts with knowing the line. If you don't know the line, how do you know when you did something wrong and drifted off the line. Just my 2 cents take it for what its worth. If I go to a new track I alway ask for an instructor to show me the line. I then work with finding my comfort level and then request an advanced instructor to show my tips and tricks to help improve my corners, That hole process doesn't happen in one day either. Its normally spread out over many track days. There is a lot to learn and its important that you take time to learn all you can.
Its the guys that skip these steps and try to attack a "new" track full speed ahead that get people hurt!
