A Prius with a radar detector is akin to other oxymorons like jumbo shrimp and military intelligence.

Photo Op....kinda

I was out and about today looking for fields to hunt. When I stopped at one place I turned back to look at my car and thought it would be a good picture. The only bad part was it wasn't taken with my phone, which takes amazing pictures for a phone, it was with my friends phone. Regardless, it is still a good picture.

They weren't home so when I stop by again I will try to get capture the picture again.

Horsepower is actually a "pseudo" number. Yes it can be measured but it is considered as a given torque (or work) over a given time. As a rule of thumb, 1HP is 33,000 lb-ft/min. HOWEVER, in the case of an internal combustion engine, HP is also dependent upon engine speed or RPMs. To be more specific, HP=(T*rpm)/5252, where 'T' is given Torque (as in 420lb-ft, for the SS), rpm is obviously engine speed, and 5252 is a constant number comprised of many different conversion factors. Using that given formula, the LS3 should be rated at 471 HP but since there are other factors that effect HP, e.g. auxiliary accessories, it was only rated at 426 HP. Fluid/Air dynamics also have a significant effect on rated horsepower as well. But that is a whole other discussion.

Well I hope I took the cake. I'm hungry....haha.

EDIT: Geez Tim....can we get a question that doesn't involve a degree in engineering and master's physics next time. Hahahaha.

Btw, this is a really good article that does a decent job explaining HP in layman's terms...

Camaro5 Fest IV: Mark the Date!

All of us here at Camaro5.com are very excited to announce the dates of next year’s show.

August 1, 2013: Meet n’ Greet & Arrival
August 2, 2013: Track Day 1
August 3, 2013: Track Day 2

This year Camaro5 Fest is going to be over the top! We’ve responded to the high expectations of our attendees, and are on track (pun intended!) to deliver the Best Camaro5 Fest Ever! This starts with another late-summer date to open up options for the many of us with children or are ourselves in school/college. We hope you’ll save the date and join us for a weekend of Camaro Motorsports fun like you won’t find anywhere else.

Stay tuned to the homepage for more information as it becomes available...which will, of course, be soon!
