Most V8 American cars have a little shake to them and I love it. My charger V6 had a slight shake to it as well.

If you are overly concerned, take it to a reputible dealer and have them check it out, or maybe check out the regional sections of the board and find a another member with a similar car/set up and see if theirs does it too.

The SS shakes because because it is a massive V8 with a performance oriented camshaft. It's completely normal.

V6s are inherently unbalanced. This coupled with the engine pushing over 300 HP, it isn't really surprising that it shakes.

OP- your car is fine. The engine can transmit a brief shake or a vibration through the body of the car while it's running, in gear or not. Engines are very heavy, and they have a lot of moving parts. You can feel things like the A/C compressor cycle on and off, and the engine control module is constantly making adjustments to how the engine is running.

The SS cars do the same thing. In fact, they might even feel like they're running a little rough at idle. For a regular production engine, they have a pretty aggressive cam (especially the LS3 and beyond). This is called lope. You can hear it and feel it. More aggressive camps have more lope to them.

I've wondered the same a year ago. Good that it's normal otherwise go would've made things worse by waiting so long. Lol Mine shakes every time I drive it since I bought it a year ago. I just treated as it was normal. I only notice it really on cold starts when I drive out the garage hot too when idling. Even v6 engines like to strut their stuff! Lol

My V6 didn't have any rough idling, but my V8 does on occasion. OP, I'm glad you asked this question! I was going to ask why my V8 shakes slightly on occasion and thanks to everyone's input, I feel better now.

My V6 shakes some as well. First time i heard was after a 400 mile trip and I've noticed it since then, nothing to bad. Just a little shimmer while idling. More so when it's hot.

Yeah mine seems to shake a little too. I think it's normal since our v6's are direct injected.

I was wondering about the shake too. I have a '14 2LS that has a little shake. I went from a Monte Carlo with no shake unless something was wrong so I was concerned as well. I am happy that it is normal.
