Question for those in Alberta..
For those of you in the Alberta Region, mainly Calgary. I'm going to be moving to Calgary to start my new job and was wondering if any of you drive your Camaro as a Daily Drive even throughout the winter?
Don't know how harsh the winter's are up there as I am from Ontario, but I'm curious as to if winter tires would do the trick, or would a beater car be needed? |

Ours is parked all winter but all you should need are good winter tires, preferably on not so nice rims.

yep just some winter tires, I've never had a day when I couldn't drive yet and almost 2 winters now. There's a few other SS in Calgary that also drive year round so no worries nothing better than out cruising in the Camaro on a Chinook day. Welcome to Alberta!!!!!!!!!!!!

All right, if it's just winter tires and rims I need, that can be accomplished easily. Thanks a tonne guys, and thank you Meltdownaverted, glad to know it's do-able.
One more quick question. Should I also go out and buy a block heater too? LOL not needed in Ontario, but don't know if I need one in Alberta. |

I went 3M for the rock\gravel issue and haven't had any issues yet although my windshield does look rather sandblasted lol

Oh as per the block heater I'm not sure if you'll need one, I park in a heated garage at night but during the day I park outside and I've never had a hard time starting but I sure let her warm up a while on those cold days

Block heater...I have mine in an unheated garage and it starts fine. I just let her warm up like Meltdownaverted does. And 3M if you can afford it. That is a must as far as I'm concerned. They lay down gravel they call sand on the roads out here. If you're concerned about lines, they can do full hood and fenders for you as well as the front. The "A" pillars and front part of the roof would be a good idea as well as the gill area in the rear 1/4's. You're going to love it out here. Especially when the Chinooks roll in in the winter time! |

you need a block heater.
just cause your car CAN start, doesnt mean it should be..... so if you have to start up in -40, your engine wont cry. you need to talk to your car and listen back on cold days.
