TSP headers

Hi every one, I just installed full TSP exhaust on my wife's 2012 camaro, but there's clearance issues with the steering column and the long tube header. When she turns they rub on the header. I called TSP and they said that they recommend pulling the header off and dinging it, or shaving on the steering column a little bit. I'm not sure i wanna ding it. My question is, has anyone else had to ding any other manufacturers headers? What do ya'll recommend? I'm sorry if this issue has been brought up before, thanks fire you're input. Let me see if I can upload shine pics.

Easy fix is to ding right where they are rubbing. Dimple it and it should clear the boot. More involved fix is re adjusting motor mounts as stated. I have the same headers and no rubbing. Good luck with the issue. This is a common thing with long tubes.

Thanks for the advice, I'll get on it this weekend.

If it is just rubbing the rubber boot then just remove rubber boot. Lot's of people have had to do this.

I've heard about this issue a few times but more typical with 2" tubes. I would think TSP could double check their fabrication jig if this is commonly reported.

I don't think the issue is with tsp. if the jig was the issue it would be a common problem in all not some of the headers. The issue is with the manufacturing process of the car itself. The engine must be installed within a certain spec. Meaning from this point to this point it is allowed to have play or be off a certain amount before it's out of spec. Ie closer to the driver side or passenger side. That is why some headers rub and some don't of the same brand

Not the greatest pic but same headers and I just have a tad more clearance and no rubbing issues.

Well, you shouldn't have to ding your new headers to get them to fit. If anything, I would say contact TSP and tell them what happened. Send them some pics as well. Get them to send you another pair and see if the second pair will fit properly.

Remove the boot. It serves no purpose
