Bad noise from rear, VIDEO INSIDE! HELP!

Hey all,

I have a 2011 2LT/RS, it has been a great car except for a few minor things.. This I can't handle anymore though!

It has always had this noise coming from the rear, near the wheels/suspension, that sounds like a spring is broken, or a piece of plate is slapping on a solid piece of metal, just a metal-y rattle I guess you would call it. It seems to happen on sharp bumps only..

People have confronted me on it, as it is louder outside than inside, I don't feel like looking like a tool anymore with a broken Camaro!

I have taken it to two different dealers over 15 times I'd say, they have looked it over and what not, needless to say I am done looking for help there, it is now in my hands and I hope you guys have some pointers on where to look or possible causes, I hope it is a heatshield or something.

I have only been under the car for a few to change the oil and haven't really even seen the rear..

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: May need good speakers or headphones, hard to hear over road noise. Happens briefly right at :49 as well, there is also a slapping noise throughout the video that happens when I let off after accelerating only in 3rd or 4th.

List your mods. Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? If so it could be hitting the tunnel brace. Could be a few other things as well.

Is the noise more predominate during turns or on rough road

Put the rear up on jack-stands...shake the wheels by hand...could be loose rim, bad bushing...gotta shake it up, not just look...good luck!

I'm not sure about during turns, but mostly on rough roads, not like dips or easy bumps, just sharp quick bumps, like potholes or cracks in the road, it makes a loose rattly metal rod/plate like noise.

I will try that, thanks! I hate having a gravel driveway!

Here is a vid trying to capture the 3-4 gear accelerating noise. Just sounds as if a bolt is backing out of a plate or something, only while it's accelerating in those gears.

Soon as I put the YouTube on video, the quality is absolute shit and you can only hear the road noise :(:

Check your license plate. Make sure it is tight and solid all the way around where it touches.
