Bought a milling machine and a dake press

I bought a milling machine this morning with all of the cutters and the toolbox to store the cutters including a dake press. It was in an estate sale, paid a grand for the milling machine and two hundred dollars for the dake press.Came out of a fabrication shop, the ex wife got the buisness out a divorce settlement and decided to sell everything.I offered a grand for the milling machine and she said deal, same with the dake press. The toolbox was there full of tools, decided to give that to her son and I understood why.I wanted a milling machine,I once in a while get a piece I make that I need to take a little off to make fit with a clean cut.The dake press will be used to press in bushings that will go in easy.I am going back, the woman gave me the steel scrap steel pile with the deal on the milling machine. The pieces are 3 inches to 12 inches long in a wooden crate and I can use them.

Now there is a good day! I have been wanting a mill, just for those "if I had a mill I could make that" occasions.

Before I bought the milling machine,I was using my handheld 4 1/2 grinder and that took longer going through grinding wheels.Plus I make some of my own parts.

I have a friend with a vertical end mill, surface planer and a few other machines.

I have used it for 3 projects for my Camaro already...

have fun with it!

what you need is a waterjet machine, we have 2 at work there awesome, but not cheap or practical for the home garage, iv'e been a machinist for over 30years, have fun with your new toy and remember safety 1st, glasses no long sleeve shirts and no rings or jewelry or gloves on your hands , seen two many guys lose fingers and worse, had to pick up a coworkers finger and put it in a bag of ice to take along with him to the hospital
