just made Act II in NM... got some new stuff that has made me more powerful... at 7k health, lvl 38.. i have lvled up my jeweler to 5 and the radiant rubies make a huge difference in weapons... i will change a few things around to farm gold coming to Act III, since there are more enemies in confined spaces in the beginning...

If diablo gets me with those spikes and grabs me up I'm pretty much dead unless I run quick and heal before he shoots out fire.

The trick is to learn his mechanics. You can avoid the spikes 100% of the time by keeping your eyes on the ground to see when the black spots start to appear. When they do, just keep running and avoid standing near any before the cages come up.

As a Witch Doctor, your best bet is to use a Vision Quest build with Dire Bats. Your damage will be high enough that you can punch through all 3 phases. Invest in some intelligence and vitality gear so you have a good health pool. You'll have to keep 4 abilities on cooldown all the time. With the build I linked, that will be both pets, Big Bad Voodoo, and either Grasp or Spirit Walk. Save Spirit Walk to get out of fire if necessary, mainly use Grasp as your 4th ability on cooldown. Otherwise just point and shoot bats at Diablo.

Last night Jcamaro was kind enough to help me get through act 2 (least favorite act) and also helped me obtain 3 upgrades to my gear. Those three items took me from 19k life/5k damage to 20k life/15k damage. Again, thank you.

I also hit level 57 during the last three quests of act 2. I'll be 60 by the end of the week I think. Jcamaros witch doctor is insane btw!

No problem. I don't mind sharing tips and gear when I can. For those in the upper 40s and into level 50+, if you want to really boost your damage you need to search the auction house for weapons with reduced level requirement. This way you can get a level 60 weapon but be able to use it at your level. For example, Mindz was level 57 last night so I searched for level 57 weapons, and specified "Reduced Level Requirement" with 3. This netted a 500 dps weapon for only 20k!

So if you just hit 50, you'd search for level 50 weapon with 10 reduced level requirement. I've seen a level 45 weapon with 800 dps!

627 dps weapon which happened to have near 100 int and a bit of vitality also. To that point I had been using a 254 dps crossbow.

Hit 60 a few minutes into act if hell and absolutely destroyed Diablo with the group I was playing with. I has a shiny new 718 dps 1hander hammer so I'm almost ready to start inferno. Time to make the hell whimsyshire staff so I can start farming it for gear.
