For polishing, do you recommend polishing the entire surface, or just where there are swirl marks? Currently I have very few swirl marks since it is a new car. I have seen a few though.

You might as well hit the whole thing. It'll really make the paint pop. Do you have a porter cable or similar machine? Hand polishing isn't going to cut it.
