this only speculation but maybe the constraint on the m6 is because they will need those m6 s for our cars in qc just a thought

How many units affected? They may never know if they were lack in their inspection and record keeping.

Theres only one reason these break, they just plain arent strong enough and thats not normal.

I have only seen this happen once in my life, and I have been repairing manual transmissions for years.

It may not be a big deal when it happens, the guy who's trans I fixed had it happen back in 1993 and his car just stopped moving. It was a clean break. With the '10 Camaro's 2 piece driveshaft I really doubt it's gonna spit the driveshaft out either.

I suspect its a heat treating flaw.

Don't be suprised if they don't make many phone calls.
Great post and to GM for stepping up to the plate on this issue!

I'd LOVE to be wrong about it but that warm fuzzy I had back when mine was built on June 25th is no where to be found right now. :(
So is there just NO quantified statement regarding us? This is really like being stuck in the bermuda triangle. Someone said that the cars should all be moved out by the beginning of august... but none have moved yet.

TRAN, thanx...that's a bit reassuring. Nevertheless, it is what it is. Thus the term WARRANTY!

Thanks Again!

You know, its funny.

Just last week it was said that tranny problems were found to be 3 freak incidents.... and that most cars are gone from Oshawa holding facility.

I call the number yet again to get status and guess what... my car is still there.

Now once again they go back to the first story, for me its simple if my car arrives in winter they can take it back, waiting a year for the top model that has already been paid for is ridiculous.

It looks as if the Camaro SS's produced last week with a six speed manual are going to be held until the first of august or so...so i must wait at least another couple of weeks before i see mine. I was also told that it was just a batch of transmissions and not the whole group of SS six speed manuals.

Just got a call from my dealer and was told the constraint on the M6 was lifted for new orders. My order went in this afternoon and was accepted. I'm finally at 2000.

Where did you hear that?

What about the cars that were produced 4 weeks ago? Are they getting out then also? If someone could answer that I would be a happy (waiting for shipping) camper.
