Ok, so I have finally made up my mind that I was going to order a 2014 1SS just how I wanted it.... Then I come across a 2013 2LT Hot Wheels MT Coupe at a dealer near me for $34k.

I'm sure it ultmately comes down to personal preference, but having never driven the V6 and only driven a '11 SS I'm stuck.... By the data on this site there are were only 34 2LT Coupe MTs built which makes it a pretty rare car.

Do I stick with the plan and special order a 1SS, or do I jump on the rare ride and go for the Hot Wheels? Are LT drivers feeling under powered, or is it enough power to be fun? I know that at the end of the day no one can make this call but me, but I am curious what everyone else thinks.....

SS without a doubt IMO.

Unless it's the v8 Hot wheels the stick to the 14. I learned the hard way. Otherwise you'll end up trading at the end anyway. Dave yourself the trouble.

Drive it. If you think you can live with the power and really want a rare car then go for it. Only you know what you really value more.

I have the V8 and thinks its not the fastest so I would defiantly stick with the original plan! plus its exactly how you want it right??

The better question is "Why?" Why would you want "rare"...for resale? Are you looking to make money off the car in the future? Are you planning to garage it and hold on to it for the next 20 years so you can have an investment in the future? (maybe) Why do you want "raw power?"...for the fun? If you get a 2014, will you still set it up in the garage and keep the miles off? Will you drive it and enjoy it for the fun of the car?

You are right, only you can answer, but you have to consider the why...I was in the unique position to obtain both...a very limited car (524 Vert, V-8, w/6 speed and only 2 went to Hennessey Performance). My car is serialized as Car #9...I do not garage it and I have put over 26k miles on it in a year and a half...my why was I wanted the power and the fun of a supercharged Camaro and have something I will not see at every car show I go to...I have been to the last 2 Camaro5 Fest and had the only Hennessey car at both...there was one Callaway there in 2012 and I have a picture of both together.

So, make YOUR choice based on YOUR "Why?" That way, you will not be disappointed after the new wears off!

If you plan to MOD the car, V8 is the only choice.

A V-8 Hot Wheels with be worth more in the long run, in terms of collectability. JMHO. Saw one in Springfield,MO when I was down there in December. My V-6 Special Edition will be over shadowed by the 2011 V-8's that came out after I bought mine.

SS all the way. You'll definitely regret the lack of power in the V6 and will be left wanting more. Not that there is anything wrong with the V6, just not the same.

You're trying to make a choice between looks and power. You can add appearance mods to an SS cheaper than you can HP to a V6. You also get the opportunity to make the car your own when you mod for appearance. I also think it's going to be LOOOONNNGGGG time before any HW car is worth money to a collector.

That special edition will only be considered rare and mean anything to you if you buy it, cover it, and let your kids get it back out in 50 years after your dead. If you plan to drive it even just for fun it's meaningless.

The V6 has plenty of power and I'm sure you'd be happy with it. I'd pick the Hot Wheels for the color, love that blue. Tough decision.

I love my V6, its got power and it is fun to drive, but then again I don't say its the same as a V8 which it isn't.

The Kinetic Blue on those HW cars is the only color I'd consider other than my Aqua Blue b/c it is so close, and they both pop in the sun...very beautiful.

But I have to agree with some of the other comments here. If you want to actually drive the car much, and not keep it in nearly pristine condition which you will have to do for it to be worth much even if it is rare.....get the V8.

Only you can decide. Drive the V6. If you are all about the power and the muscle sound of the V8, just do it. Otherwise if that isn't a big deal, and you want something that looks fantastic and rare you know what direction to go.
