I had a G8 GXP that I really loved. Very basic, but a great car for its intended use. I traded that car on my '10 Camaro 2SS. I liked the Camaro better just because of the lower ride and driveability. The GXP was no slouch as it had the LS3 engine even in the auto edition.
Move to present. I no longer have my '10 Camaro, but my '14 2SS that I ordered in early December will be here by the end of this month so I will be back to driving a fun car. I considered the Chevy SS, but for the money it is just an Impala with the L99 engine and a little better suspension. To end a long story, I personally do not see much of a market today for the Chevy SS. Kind of sad but it is in a very small niche market and I do not foresee much of a future for it.

If I was in the market for a 4 door sedan that had looks and power I would jump ship to the dodge charger. Chevy took a bunt for this one, no swinging for the fence whatsoever.

Save yourself some money and find a used Pontiac G8. Basically the same car.

I walked past one at Barrett-Jackson and didn't even see it. Blah.
When the G8 GT first came out, it was priced RIGHT...$29,995 (a little more with options). The G8 always looked good in my opinion. It's just hard to justify anything over $40K for a Chevrolet 4 door sedan. I think a sunroof is the only option on an SS and sticker will be $48K. |
