Darn your fancy exhaust!!!!! I agree. If I heard them tell me that, I would have hit the floor laughing, thinking he was joking with me.

Just my opinion but taking care of your car is like taking care of yourself. Nobody is going to do it for you. If any fluids are leaking from any of my vehicles, I am the first one to know it. 99.9% of the time if something is wrong with my car and I want it serviced at a dealership or private garage. I go in telling them what is wrong.
Kind of like going to the doctor for a problem you are having. You got to tell the doc what's wrong. Don't expect anybody to do things for you.

I don't know what the answer is, but I do know that service writers and service managers can be bozo's especially if the exchange at the dealership was confrontational. The folks at GM Customer Service have a greater interest (and are professionally removed) in determining the actual conditions of warranty coverage because if there is real liability, they have an interest in closing out the issue as quickly as possible. I'd be curious how they think the exhaust affects warranty coverage on the diff, unless they also mentioned other modifications which seriously affect horsepower/torque output. I can understand wheel size if and only if you also changed the overall circumference. What you're looking for is a very solid denial for specific reasons. They might have good reasons, and if they do, it's self-pay for the repairs, for you! |

That's a bunch of crap. I had a Caddy SRX come with dealer option 20's (not available from factory at that time) and they replaced my diff under warranty.
The dealership has to get warranty work approved first by GM. So they are more of the middle man and not always their fault as long as they try to get the warranty approved. Some are better than others. The warranty repair usually pays the dealer less than normal... so sometimes they do sorta screw you over hoping they get the full amount of repairs. |

This morning I went and got 6 quarts of Mobil 1 and an AC Delco filter. Called my buddy that owns his own shop and I'll take it there tomorrow. I know it will get done right and won't have to worry about it.

Don't these idiots realize they get paid by doing repairs????
Ok...sure customer pay is more than warranty pay...but they honestly can't believe that a customer would pay them to work on their car after they prove they are incompetent to work on the car. More idiots reveling themselves daily.....

Driving faster on 14.33" stock would spin the differential at the exact same rate as driving slower with 13.10" wheels? The service manager is an idiot or his dealer has a hands off any modded car policy, take the car somewhere else or make him prove that the wheels caused damage (Which he will never be able to do).
