Top doesn’t go down

Hi,

My 2012 convertible doesn't lower the top. When I press the down button it says unlatch top and not sound or roll the windows down at all, but it is unlatched and free and the cargo net is opened. I can press the up bottom and the windows go down and motor works.

What can I do?

Best,

Sounds like you may have the buttons function reversed. The up button doesn't do anything with the windows. When pressing the down button the windows should go down, then the top will lower as you hold the button. Continue to hold it down until you hear a beep which is to let you know it's all the way down. I assume the button is the same betwen the model years but who knows for sure. In my 13, the button functions like this, down is toward the back of the car and up is toward the front of the car.

Hi, thanks but I think that’s not exactly the issue. I mean, when I press the forward button it is trying to close the roof, but it is already closed. But the back button(the one top open the roof) doesn’t do anything at sll just the unlatch error message

So if your top is up and you push the up, the windows go down? That part of previous advice is wrong. If your windows are up with the top down, you push the button, the windows will roll down.

Since you have the cargo net in place it sounds like it may be a sensor that detects you have unlatched it is not working

You will get a message the net is not in place. The display between the gauges should give you something.

Disable and delete the annoying vert top clearance net. Try this and see if it works.

Nothing, my problem is not the net appears to be the latch sensor. Any idea?

I had issues with my latch sensor (windshield) causing that annoying alert, it turned out the that latch wasn't pushing the micro switch far enough...so who need a latch sensor anyway, you can tell right in your face if it's latched or not!? In all my cleverness I bypassed it and no more annoying alert but now my frigging to won't fold down! Once again in cleaver mode I wired the micro switch back up and glued a piece of 1/8" rubber to the switch paddle and all good now. If it isn't at the windshield is has to be in the trunk. I'm assuming you checked all fuses. Good luck.

In the repair store told me that was the latch sensor. They ask me 180+taxes(200€ aprox 220 dollars) for this sensor. Do you the part ID of this sensor?

Best,
