Yeah I'm not an insanely hot girl like you. So, I got a ticket for going 45 in a 40 this weekend. Yes the officer went on and on about how amazing my SS convertible is. But he still gave me the ticket.

Just saying, I have gotten 5 tickets now since I've started driving and I am 20. All have been for speeding. I have never been a dick or rude. I know what I did and not going to fight it. NEVER have gotten a warning..instant ticket.

And 1 of the tickets the cop followed me for half a mile, through a parking lot of Wal-Mart AND THEN once I am out of my car turns on her lights and STILL writes me a ticket. Probably the one that pissed me off the most.

In Arizona you will get a warning for speeding but then sent to ICE for being here illegally!

Yep, having an attitude when pulled over always works.

The LAST thing you want to do is stroke the piranha when you get pulled over.

If they write you a ticket, BEFORE you sign is when you ask to see the video. Up until then it could just be a warning.

Here in Iowa, they're not required to show you the video or radar gun.

My friend and I were going on a cruise in the Camaro. We had the windows down, sunroof open, music playing, it was going to be a great evening!….

Until I saw flashing lights in my rearview mirror. Alas, my first encounter with law enforcement had finally arrived. I pulled off into a neighborhood and put my Camaro in park. The cop came up to my window, asked me if I "saw the stop sign back there", I nicely explained that I did stop at the stop sign, he then explains that he can show me the video of me not stopping at the stop sign. He was super nice about it and what not, so I apologized for not stopping and he proceeds to tell me how beautiful and pretty my Camaro is. He says this not one, not two, but three times. He takes my license and runs my information, comes back and says again how pretty my car is then says "well, I know how we can all be in a hurry sometimes, here's a warning."

Ha. What an experience. It was bizarre. I'm pretty sure Mr. Officer just wanted to look at my car and I. Which is fine by me, he was really cool about it. I can only hope in the future, all encounters with law enforcement will go that smoothly

Here's a photo I snapped while I was waiting to get my license back:

really.....

Guys, cmon. Are there officers that are complete and total A-holes that are on a power trip? Hell yeah there are! Writing a cite for 5 over is chicken sh!t no doubt about it. It's a pretty well known fact that young guys driving flashy muscle cars is going to generate more attention than some old lady driving a Corolla and if you are speeding, blowing stop signs, whatever, your gonna get nailed. Happened to me. I got 6 tickets in one year (from the same cop) and he just laughed every time he pulled me over. But, was I speeding? Yeah, I was.

My point to all of this was attitude. No guarantees that if you kiss some ass your going to get a warning. But if your a dick you'll get a ticket for sure. Life aint fair people. I'm sorry but it just isn't. Although cops are held to higher standard, they are people and they aren't perfect. They do crap from time to time that is a poor example, I'll admit. I see it all the time. But we can complain about how they do their jobs and get all bent out of shape, or just roll with it and live life. Nobody likes cops or lawyers; until someone burgs your house and you expect the police to find the culprit. Or you get arrested for something and need an attorney to get your ass out of hot water.

Peace.

I think it's funny how people will post up their story, and then never come back to re-visit their thread afterwards...

So when is going 5 over NOT speeding? It's called a speed LIMIT for a reason...
5 miles over in a 40 mph zone is 12,5% over the limit
5 miles over in a 70 mph zone is 7% over the limit. So which is worse?
Doing 45 in a 40 is almost the same as doing 80 in a 70.

With an attitude like that, you must have a BINDER full of citations.

I love people who say, "Oh I would have done this" or "I would have done that".

$500 says that in an actual traffic stop, you would keep your mouth shut and not even think about acting like that.

Wish I had taken a picture of the officer that pulled me over in my old V6.

Would have been hard to get though since he was on a motorcycle/scooter/Vespa thing.
