V6 Power
Sorry if this the wrong place to post this....
I just purchased a 2011 V6 LS Camaro black exterior, black interior 6spd manual. It has been ordered today with 5 to 7 week delivery. The dealership I went to only had the SS Camaro's so I really didn't want to test drive an SS to get a feel of the V6. I currently own V6 5spd 2003 Mustang that I added a dual exhaust to. I believe I added a MAC Exhaust. I felt the Mustang styling is a poor now and looks like a box and Camaro just seems to offer so much more. Anyway, my question is since I didn't drive a V6 yet how would the power in the V6 Camaro compare to my current V6 2003 Mustang? Obviously the V6 Camaro is faster by far but how would you rate the ride. Off the line? Passing power? Exhaust sound? Handling? etc. |

Off the line = Fair
Ride = Good Passing Power = Very good Exhaust sound = Poor Handling = Very good, almost great Overall driving experience = Amazing never drove a 2003 Mustang, seems like the general consensus is there is not much of a comparison, Camaro easily tops it |

Exhaust sound is easily fixed thank god, LOL.
The V6 stang in 03 had 193hp. Your 2011 Camaro has 312. First gear is really short, but I haven't had any issues getting off the line in a hurry. Definitely can pass well when you grab a gear and go. Handles very well IMO.

Pretty Much my thoughts, though the off the line may very from person to person (which I guess is a give-in) Theres been a few times where I "Let her breathe a little bit" and she jumped real nice

Especially when you load it up and launch it. (within reason and safety of course )

I agree with most of what has been said except for the exhaust sound. It definitely sounds better than most V6s. What it is lacking is depth and volume, and that is easily fixed. I would describe the exhaust sound as neutral. It isn't quite good or bad. It is quiet and not disturbing.

I drove a 2000 Mustang V6 before my Camaro so I have some good insight
1 - Much worse than the Mustang 2 - Worse than the Mustang 3 - Same 4 - Better 5 - Much better Off the line = 4 Ride = 5 Passing Power = 5 Exhaust sound = 4 (granted that isn't saying much...the stock exhaust on those Mustangs are HORRIBLE) Handling = 3 Overall driving experience = 5

Almost faster than a 2010 Mustang GT. They still have about 200 lbs less than us!

Thanks everyone so far answering my questions. I am sure the ride is a huge difference compared to my Mustang now. The exhaust I am not too concerned about, the louder it is the more cops/compliants it attracts. A decently sounding exhaust is good enough for me now. My Mustang has decent power, so I am looking forward to the superior power of the Camaro when it comes in.
