Unhappy What happened to the fuel door?

The fuel door now is on the passenger side & painted.I like the concept fuel door on the drivers side and the racecar style that was on it.

It's been discussed to nauseum but ya, most agree with you. I know I do. You can still buy a metal door though.

It might have a fuel door arrow to remind you.

Yep. Bet a lot of folks don't know that on your fuel gauge there is an arrow
on the left or right. That designates where the fuel door is. Used mainly when your driving a car you normally don't such as a rental.

It's probably already been stated but I like it on the passenger side. That way you never have to worry about your door hitting/rubbing up against the raise concrete island that most pumps are on.

It has to do with the strength of the fender mainly. It would have been a royal pain for them to leave it the way it was and still be safe enough.

Nah, my fuel door is on the 'wrong' side and every car that I had driven before had it on the drivers site. I think I've screwed up maybe once. But if you're using it as a weekend car where a tank might last a month and you drive something else every day, slip-ups might be more common.
