Cause I have a 69 Cadillac convertible, and I don't think sports cars should be convertibles or automatics for that matter. JMHO. However they do look nice but just not my thing.

Coupes maintain the bodylines and that magnificent greenhouse that makes the car so appealing in the first place. Not to mention a 'vert is never a good idea for the performance-minded enthusiast.

I prefer the convertible and would be getting that if i could, but cant wait that long. my current car has 170k miles on it and im putting another 3-4k a month on it. I love the alero to death and am initially keeping it as the daily driver but dont think it can hold up to 200k + it would need to wait for the convertible.

structural rigidity, weight, and price are all reasons I'm not getting a convertible. This is one of the few convertibles that looks great with both the top up and down, and it would be nice to have an open air driving experience, but the three reasons for not getting one are too strong.

The idea of a convertible car has never appealed to me. I hate the way they look when "closed", and I still don't even like them when they're open. Driving it, I think it would feel too open, IMO. I would not like all of the noise and wind. And I would be pissed to find bird sh!t in my seat

i don't mind having one, but i'm with spike on that \/
it's also easier to maintain & you ain't gotta worry about getting rips in sheet metal

I personally am getting the Coupe because I already have a Convertible.
2007 Saturn SKY Redline But I only bought that back in 2007 because they pushed the Camaro all the way from 2006 to 2010, and I needed a Man Toy in the worst way. Plus the Camaro needs to be a hard top in my opinion, looks more aggressive. The SKY was designed as a convertible and the Camaro was designed as a hard top! I do like convertibles but the whole mean look of the Camaro is lost when the top is missing. If I want a convertible I would get a merc or something else. The Camaro is a muscle car and without the top it loses the "power".

Honestly I've never actually driven a convertible lol so i can't comment on how it feels but i think convertibles only look good on certain cars. muscle cars just happen to not be one of those cars IMO. BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc. all those cars look good in convertibles and i would drive those in convertible. not a camaro or a mustang or anything like that

Because the jury is still out as to whether or not the convertibles will even be made. While I really think they will be, the fact is that GM has to have these 2010's make a splash, and a big splash at that. Then when you consider the fact that they won't even begin to hit the showroom floors for another year and a half from now...that really is a long time for me to wait. I kind of need a new horse to replace one of my cars right now.
What I really wanted were T-Tops though! Honestly, I was very disappointed when I learned these new Camaro's weren't going to have 'em. I love being open topped while still having some metal around me. Whereas in a convertible, you're just open to the world...no privacy at all. One thing I would LOVE with either the T-Tops or convertible, is being able to see daylight right off the top of the windshield! And as far as these 5th Gens go, with the convertible top down, all your blind spots should disappear, which everyone should love. I am getting an SS now, but if / when the convertibles do come to be, I really may consider making the switch. I LOVE the wind, sun, and all that extra visibility! One of the best experiences was the first time (and every time) I went to Yosemite! I had my T-Tops off, and as I came out of the tunnel and looked up and around at everything...! Well if you haven't been there but have a chance to go, do it...but try to do it in some kind of open topped vehicle! It's the best way to enjoy the scenery!!! That's it, I want the convertible right now, dang it!!! See what you did?!!!

Other: I plan to use my car all year round and a convertible is too cold up here.

^^^ As far as I've heard. The 2010 coupes, 2011 coupes, and 2011 conervts are a sure thing.
and the reason I'm not getting one is simply because I don't want a convertible. meant for SScattergunSS |
