Dealer installed sunroof
I am in the hunt for a Camaro! I recently talked to a dealer and he will be doing a trade with another to get it here. However I want a sunroof on my baby, but this car he is trading for does not have one. He told me his dealership has had 6 years of experience installing the sunroof and that the sunroof is not the same sunroof they install at the factory. He says it operates the same as the factory sunroof. The only thing different is the button in the car that operates it is slightly different. Has anybody had a sunroof installed by a dealer on their Camaro? Would it be better for me to wait 8 weeks to get one from the factory or do you believe the sunroof they install at the dealer is perfectly fine?

Get a factory roof, aftermarket roofs suck and will lower the value of your car

GM highly recommends NOT to cut into the structural integrity of the car....just because a third party vendor has a sunroof, and someone has a sawzall, doesn't make it right. Any issues in the car caused by the sunroof install will not be covered under your warranty.

Do not cut a hole in your roof!!!!!! if you want a sunroof find a car with one from the factory.

If you were me... What would you do? I have three choices.
1) get the car with the dealer installed sunroof 2) wait 8 weeks or more for the factory installed sunroof 3) pay an additional fee for the dealer to find the EXACT car in the country WITH a factory installed sunroof and have it shipped here on the truck. Meaning.. Would the additional fee be worth it rather than having to wait for a factory made car |

The rooflines are totally different.
The design for structural integrity, is not the same. The Camaro without a sunroof is a reverse mohawk, where the sunroof has a smooth top. Make the wait, and get it the way it was designed. |

Thank you so much guys! You are so helpful. I have one last option/question.. IF the dealer found a car with a factory installed sunroof.. Would you pay the travel fee to have them ship it to you on a truck or would you rather wait and get it from the factory?!
