Need advice on BCM.

Well I finally found the problem with my car not displaying all functions on the Info center and only reading kph on the analog speedo.
Turns out my bcm is fried. Should I order a bcm off eBay and do it myself? Or pay $385 for a new one and programming included?

Maybe I'm paranoid (and a bit biased as I work at a dealership) but I think you'd be surprised at the amount of problems that we end up fixing, and being more expensive than just going through the dealership in the first place.

I vote dealership and done. This will make sure that any part warranties will remain in effect, too.

Ask to get "Trade" pricing, and don't pay more than warranty book time, either.

You may find out your car will not start if you change the BCM or ECU without going through the dealer. The security system links through both boxes. I replaced my ECU an had it programmed through a non dealer. The security light was lit and the car started for a while then stopped.
From what I was told both boxes need to be programmed to work together not just the replaced one.

Well I ended up going through the dealer as suggested. Hopefully it is just the bcm and not the cluster too. We'll see what happens!
