GAS CAP CURIOSITY

this may have been answered and it doesn't really bother me either way
but just out of curiosity has there been a discussion on whether or not the Camaro will have a traditional gas cap or one of the newer 'cap-less' ones (seen below) like on my '08 mountaineer ?

Also out of curiosity which do you prefer?

I do believe there is a gas cap, but someone on here will correct me if I'm wrong. Never had a cap-less car.

yup the car in toronto had a gas cap. imo there is no difference between the 2. the capless cap gets rid of the "o shit did i close the gas cap and door?" moments.

I can see a capless tank causing way more problems then it's convenience frees up...
first off, theft/vandalism...

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle. Never heard of one of these before either. What will they come up with next? Yeah, I'm old enough now that to change the way I pump my gas seems more than a bit odd. I think I could get used to it though. Seems like a good idea as far as siphoning goes...if it really works. And it would be quicker to pump gas in. And you'd never have to worry about leaving that friggn' gas cap back at the station. I'm sure by now replacement gas caps are costly. But what concerns me is the introduction of dust or anything else into the fuel system.

I know these things probably work like they are supposed to or they wouldn't make 'em. I might like to have one........(scratches head and thinks about it).

Not really. You can buy locking gas caps for $5 and regular ones for $2-$3 at Wal-mart.
