ss/non-rs, want HID's
Hey guys my ss is a non-rs and I of course need those HID's. At the time I bought the ss I could not justify paying 1200 bucks for the HID's. Now of course I have to have them. So does anyone know where i can find a pair like new or new?? Or if someone made some mods to their camaro and for some reason got rid of the HID's let me know. Does any one know how much GM is selling them for?

Justin i'm NOT bashing your product as you guys make some awesome stuff, I just think doing the HID's just looks cleaner imho... It is far cheaper to go your route though...LOL

The halogen headlight housing in the non-RS camaro is not designed for HID and so the light will be scattered and you will blind people. It’s best if you first buy these replica RS projector headlights (which also come with HALOs) on ebay. Those are designed to for non-RS HID installation. A couple of members have bought them with great results and I'm looking to buy one too. They cost $400.

You can get a set of OEM HID headlights used for around 700 bucs or less, you would need to shop around and a little bit of luck, i spent 500 for my pair.
Or GMpartsdirect for 588 a piece. (Brand new) and you will need a harness that cost $100 from Ottobody, or from AAC (i dont know if they still make it) Ebay and Craigslist are youre friends. If you go with a Non-OEM housing you will still need to purchase An HID kit and you will loose the High beams. |

You don't need a high beam, it is so nice to drive at night and see! Thanks Justin for the recommendation on these!

Hit up ddmtuning.com. Been using their products for the past 5 years or so and have never had an issue with anything they sell. Still on the original bulbs from way back when I did my first retrofit and they are still as bright as the day they where installed. Stay with 35 watt though. Under 100 bucks including the relay harness and high/low bulbs.

Also, with this combo, you do not lose your high beams because while the HID bulb is a single beam, the projector makes it low and high beam: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100103
