Jr. Is History For The Chase
I'm sure NASCAR wanted to find a way to cancel the next two races since Jr. will not be in them... afterall, they feel they can't survive if he doesn't win a race every 3 years. I guess they didn't have time to cancel Charlotte but maybe next week they can do it

So are you not a fan of Nascar or not a fan of Dale Jr? Either way not really sure what your point was.

I agree. Just another hater. The man is 6th on the active driver win list.

I wish Dale Jr. the best. He's my favorite Nascar driver and he does as best he can considering all the pressure because of his late father, so give him a break!

In one of the papers my sister was reading - she went to Charlotte for the weekend it says Jr. experienced headaches and vertigo from the concussion. I hope not I can remember when Craven had that kind of concussion it ended his career.

Jr. imho has nothing to prove to anyone. He has set his career on his own and has done quit well. Notice the same people typically hate anyone who does well, just because they have some sort of identity crisis or are F1 watchers lol. |

Loved his dad...the greatest! Jr loves Tv commericals lives off his father's reputation. He's driving the best equipment out there, what has he done with it? Nascar misses his dad they don't need him!

May want to look at his stats - I think he has stood well on his own. People who talk like that generally wanted him to live up to his dads reputation but he is his own and had made his own mark. And actually Nascar does need him - without him in the chase their ratings dropped something like 30% and with him in the chase they went back up and that is proven. |

I thought the points go with the car not the racer...I could be wrong, but I believe another driver can come in and sub...by that notion how is he history for the chase??

Points go to the driver.

The car gets owner points - the driver gets Championship award money. So while yes Rick Hendrick will still get the points for the car and if the car were to win the Championship then yes Rick Hendrick would win the chase, however Dale Jr. cannot win the Drivers Championship if he did not compete in the Chase. It is sort of like two chases in one.

He has been driving top notch stuff since he has started..didn't start at the bottom like his dad. Like I stated Loved his dad never thought much of him!
Just my opinion, if you like him fine. Nascar has been declining since Dale died like it or not! Nascar doesn't to lose the Earnhardt #3 name recognition !! They won't miss Jr let him go sell jeans.

Dale Senior if you look never took to much parenting but he did raise Kelly and Dale and started his Nationwide series just for Dale. But I do agree Nascar is not the same without Dale, or Cale, or Buddy, or Bill France, or and the list goes on.
