Question about SS intake - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hello, I am looking for an SS, I came across this one online, but the intake looked different then what i have seen before. Can anyone shed some light as to what this this?

This is a 2013 2ss if that makes a difference.

Your going to replace that with a CAI ,Rotofab sooner later any way .

Are you talking about the engine cover over the upper intake, or the factory air box with the filter and mass air flow?

Two different interpretations for intake.

Both look stock to me.

Ditto -- bone stock -- looks like they clear coated it to make it look 'spiffy'

That's a clean and shiny engine bay but that intake is all stock.

the plastic color of the intakes air tube is usually more black in pictures that's all

Thanks for all of the replies, It was just airfilter > tube> that has some extensions on it, that didn't look familiar,

Those extensions are the factory sound isolators/baffles to quiet the intake sound down.

Aftermarket Cold Air systems delete these baffles and really wakes the car up in terms of overall engine noise and you can hear the rush of the air.

But that car appears to have the stock set up on it.

Thanks! I already decided on CAI! I hear nothing but good things. Thanks again everyone, I was doing some more looking, seems it is on them, I think I didn't notice due to the usual black color, and of course because everyone on here pretty much replaces it first thing. Appreciate your time.
