Your car is about as totaled as the F-150. Not.
Sorry to see the damage to your ride.

Mine was just about like that. Not totaled, 27 days and thousands of dollars later and she came home!

Sad to say some companies will salvage the car for minor damage. Impossible to know til they tell you.
I know someone who got their $10,000 car get a salvage title because of needing a paint job and minor body work on the hood |

Well ya hafta understand how these are built. You can remove the front and rear bumpers(fascia) front and rear fenders, grill, doors etc. Now if there is frame involvement, if you ran over a curb, you'll have underneath damage, you flip it then roof damage, well then maybe totaled. But not always and all is not lost. Just think of how an estimator would look at it; if you notice it he will probably notice it. Just glad you're ok! A car can be replaced, you cannot. One other thing, if it needs to be totaled, you should consider totaling it. They won't hand over the check until you sign a release for the car which usually states you no longer maintain an interest in the totaled car. In essence they are buying it from you. This means you can't fix it and/or sell the parts. Don't fix up a totaled car. It will wind up costing more than it's worth(usually Kelly Bluebook).Your value of the car and what Kelly considers value won't necessarily be the same. Keep this in mind as you go through the insurance process, it's nothing personal, it's only business. Good luck to you and your Camaro!

Not a total. And frame damage doesn't make it automatically a total. Neither do air bags. Value of car vs cost of repairs. Usually around 70% of value (not amount owed).

My car had much worse damage plus all airbags deployed and it wasn't totalled. I'm pretty sure you'll be OK. But then again, I'm in Europe and cars are considered totalled only if damage is extremely high and unrepairable

With so many distractions,it is important to leave a safe distance between you and the car ahead. My Dad is 85 and still functions at 100%,has never been in an accident. He's always told us to leave enough room between you and the car ahead, to be able to safely stop the car behind. Sadly for you and your car,you learned the hard way.Glad your okay.

I got a ZL1 front end for mine after hitting a deer. Had to pay the difference $10.97 and I supplied a Truecarbon Fiberglass hood scoop $235.
State Farm paid $11k. They tried to make me use salvage and Chinese parts. I had the dealer install all new GM parts. GM wil price match on large items. State Farm wanted to use an $800 windshield and the GM was $400, used headlight $190 vs gm $120. No way you have a total.

Serves us right for staying at the scene to make sure the people in the two other cars that crashed behind us were OK. F'tards. No way to dispute it either really and it's with the car for life.
