2011 Camaro RS auto 6-speed (w/paddle shifter) Transmission problems
Have there been a lot of reported transmission problems with the 2011's? Just purchased one, drove it approx 3000 miles and the transmission ceased up (except for reverse). Had it towed to the Chevy dealer and was told they have a 'new machine' to diagnose transmission problems. The results were sent to Chevrolet, but no return news (been 6 days since it was towed). I traded in a Ford truck and am losing confidence in the Chevy and the dealer on this one.

Rest of the story on the bad transmission
3000 miles and 55 days of ownership on the 2011 camaro with 19 of those days in the shop already (have not gotten the car back yet). Debate between the service department and Chevy on how the repairs should be completed and instead of replacing the transmission, they are going to repair it (solenoid pack, 1-4 clutch baskets, gasket and a few other things). Certainly not what I paid for and I am very disappointed in Chevrolet!

That really sucks! Sorry for your problems with the car! I hope they come though for you with a new tranny so you can get on with enjoying the car soon!

Wow. This is the first I have ever heard of any problems with an auto trans. They are typically pretty bullet proof. Even with Superchargers and Turbos thrown into the mix. What exactly happened to it to cause it to lock up? Did it loose all it's fluid?

Don't despair. At least GM is going to do the repair, rebuild or new tranny, under warranty. You WILL get lots of enjoyment from your new Camaro. Hang tough.

I bought a 2011 new a couple of months ago (left over) I have less than 2500 miles on it, the auto trans went out, first the dealer said they needed to inspect the pump, they told me it was fine and it needed a computer, the transmission acted like it didn't have any fluid in it, but they assured me it was full, then they called and told me they were gonna replace the seals in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th clutches. then they told me they got it back from the other dealer that repaired the trans and it was still doing the same thing, now they tell me GM is giving them a new trans to install, I'm still waiting, I don't even feel like I own a camaro any more.
