Finally - evap ready

Finally, after two months, three weeks, 4 tanks of 93 octane the evap readiness is set. On the way to get the sticker, new tags and then can get back to tuning. !!

Yes sir! It's been a bit of a delay - but in the end will be worth the time to make it right.

My Evap isnt even ready and I am not tuned. It's a good thing Florida doesn't do these checks because if they did i would be screwed

What did you have to do to get them to say ready?

There is some procedure that GM has that you could follow, or you can just keep driving till it is ready haha. Let me see if I can find the thread from awhile go that talked about it.

Yellow Glide great to hear from you, I was just wondering what was going on with your cams the other day! I'm anxious to hear how this works out for you!

I tried doing the GM procedure but had issue with getting to a remote area I could do the test. I do know it was approximately 150 miles to get the sensor ready. I firmly believe the key to getting the sensor ready is performing a sufficient number of cold starts and short trips under 60mph.

As I said, I tried to do the GM procedure but never had the DIC indicate to accelerate during the test. I attempted the GM test four times without success, then I had the wife do short trips and stay under 60.

How's it going. Now the sensor escapades are over I can get back to dialing in the tune.

Car is fun to drive - need more traction though. Stand on it about 20mph in first and it spins with the nannies on. With TC off might as well pour bleach on the ground and roll thru it.

Burnt rubber really stinks up the inside of a car - I've started buying the little pine trees by the case.

Sounds familiar, took me that long a couple years ago to get ready too. Now I just don't touch the tune during the spring until the damn inspection is done.
