Oshawa Holiday schedule - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I seemed to have missed this but I understand Oshawa is taking time off or idling back for the xmas holidays? When is this taking place? I thought I had heard it was two weeks and I assume it is the last two weeks of this month but I would like to know for sure please.

they will be off dec.24 thru jan.2

Both the Camaro and Impala plants will shut down on Dec 23 . The Camaro plant will be down for an additional 1 week in January and resuming production on the 11th of Jan. This added week is for some re-tooling time that is needed in the flex plant for product upgrades. Hope this helps.

Congrats on some well deserved time off. All the Oshawa employees have been working very hard for a long time now.

When production starts up again will it still be six days a week?

As far as i know , yes we'll be starting up with the Saturday shifts again on the 23rd of January. The time off is welcome.

+1. Thanks for working all the OT! With the economy the way it is most people are just happy to be working, but I can imagine giving up your Saturdays for last several months is starting to hurt personal and family time! As a fellow Ontarian I just wanted to extend my gratitude to all those making that sacrifice so we can have our awesome cars! I think mine should be built sometime in January. I can't be more proud to have my car built right here in Ontario and help support everyone involved!
