Looks good. I will be making some also. Takes a little time and effort but will be worth it.

THR I see a bottle of Zaino. I love that stuff!

Nice job OP. I made a set almost exactly how you did it earlier this year. Well worth the effort to protect the sides, especially with the wider wheels up front. I have an SS with 10" wide wheels all around and the ZL1 front and rear splash guards. To complement them and give extra protection I used the rears as a pattern.

I bought these for the material. They are 24 inches long by 12 wide.

One other thing I did to protect the paint was to used 3M tape on the lip of the fender, much the same as GM did on the ZL1 splash guards. You still need to use fastners but iit does help hold the guard in place and keeps grit from getting in between the guard and the paint.

I also made mine slightly longer on the bottom to keep debris off the rockers. Seems to work well because I don't get the grime and grit as much on the sides when tracking like I used to. (keeps the track marbles off the car now)

Here's a shot in action

A ton of thanks for this DIY.

Able to install mine today as front splash guards...

Mine is a 2LT. So i dont have the rear splash guards.. You guys think i need the rear ones too.. I tried to follow this DIY and install the rear ones. But it seems like the rear wheel wells are different from the front wells..

pls let me know if there is a diy for installing rear canards ( for non- ZL1's)

Great write-up dude! I go to school at SIUC for automotive, and our new building has a white rock parking lot... get white dust and pieces up on the panels behind the wheels.. but I don't like the GM splash guards.. I'll be making these soon! Thanks, Jeremy

they work, just not a big fan of "mud flaps" on a muscle car.
