Instrument Cluster

Ok, so i was doing a DIY with changing the lights in the gauge cluster and broke the tachometer. This has been fine for awhile as i have the HUD but want it fixed now. I do not want to buy a new one but was wondering if, i bought any used camaro cluster and took the tachometer motor off of the used one and put it on mine. Would this work? As in unsoldered the old one and resoldered it onto mine.
