Why not to use slicks on road

They lasted about 600 miles, or roughly 4+ months.
Never really take the car out but today went to go get gas and:

Thank god I was going about 10mph. Could've been real bad if I was punching it.

Since the car isn't a daily or anything my spare was at home and I had no jack. Thank god my buddy rescued me and we came and got the regular back tire on. Scary moment was when the benz jack (those crappy plastic chinese ones) slipped and the car almost fell over with no wheel on the back! Took about 6 of us (mostly bystanders watching) to keep it up long enough to slip the wheel back in.

Lesson: Don't use slicks on the road

Ya full blown slicks don't work well on the streets. Trailor it to the track or switch them when I get there lol. Been there. My slicks got one track run and to many runs on the street before I knew it I had to by more. Lets just say mine didn't get slicks for the street again lol

As stupid as it might be I have seen it done with several other cars like Corvettes and camaros and it is effective at getting the tires there.

My buddy road races his Z06 and he does this when he doesn't trailer the whole car. It works out well for him!

City maintenance crews are not like track prep crews at the strip. They don't care what you drive your ride through. Treads for the street. And be careful!

Back in the hay-day of the street racing days in Chicago, we saw this quite a bit.

Maybe the economy has taken away some of the brashness of running slicks on the streets lol.
