What does it take?

Okay I love my car but I thought that with 426hp it would at least spin the tires in 1st gear while rollin with no clutch. My question is what does it take to accomplish this? I know the torque management is part of it. I have CAI cold air, solo cats, flowmaster catback. Will a tune help much now? I am planning long tubes and a cam this winter and am sure that will do it but I want some fun now lol.

Did that long ago. It is running pretty good. I just want that aggressive old school tire shredder that I expected. Thought maybe the tune could help and wanted some insight. I have seen guys on here say theirs did it from the factory no problem. Do they have different tires? A different gear? My car runs with a mid to low 12 sec rousch my buddy owns, so a complete turd its not just wont spin tires for nothing.

If its about traction control and stabilitrac yes the first thing I do after the car is started is hold the button down for 7 secs until both lights come on.

I have Lts 3" cat back and cai and it will not spin from a 1st gear roll and just a little from a dig with the trac control all off.I'm getting a cam next week I'll let you know how that goes.I like the fact it doesn't spin, you really never know how good of a thing it is till you drive something that doesnt hook worth a damn.450 rwhp in my 4th gen SS without a least DR's would make ur ass pucker a little and was useless at times.Years ago i drove a friends 94' 4th gen that made right at 650 rwhp on the bottle and all I will say is that you could not have drove a nail up my ass with a 10lbs sledge hammer.

The Pirelli PZeros get amazing grip on dry pavement. The only way you're breaking them loose in anything close to stock form is with revs and the clutch. Just hitting the gas from a roll won't do it. Yes, you have 426hp, but remember, that only comes at 5900 RPM.

Thanks to all for the info. I know spinning is not really good but damn its fun lol. Just sometimes I hear these guys claiming they smoked the tires I think damn did I get a lemon lol. But people can claim anything on the net. Thanks for being honest.

Send a message via AIM to DietCoke
Long gearing in the axle and trans make it hard to spin first from a roll in first gear. Add HP or gear, and it will shred tires.
