Good for you guys. I'm sure it's a blast to drive.

Please keep in mind. We've had a rash of GT500 guys on here that have been chest thumping/trolling. I'd hate to see you lumped in that group.

With all due respect to the beast that is the GT500, this is a Camaro forum.

FWIW.

In general yes, but it depends how close the turbo car is to the edge of the efficiency range of the turbo. If the car is at the limits of the turbo it is going to suffer more from altitude than if it were deeper into the efficiency range of the turbocharger at sea level. Typically, losses thanks to altitude will be least in turbo, then supercharged, then n/a applications.

I would not expect the Shelby to outperfrom a Boss on a road course and the ZL1 has already proven to be a little better than the Boss on a couple road courses. Just want to see how they do head to head in all categories.
You wouldn't expect the gt500 to outperform the boss? I'm sorry, but that's ludicrous. The '12 gt500 already did that. The boss handled better, but that gap has gotten smaller and the gt500's advantages from before (brakes and power) have just gotten much greater. Don't forget, road courses are made up of turns AND straights. Also keep in mind that Ford stated they were revising the gt500 because the Boss was too close, I wouldn't bet on the Boss in anything but autocross really.

wheres the hood?...
I know its Ford, but imo it looks like a variant of the Viper, like what the Avenger was to the Charger.

Evos isn't a Mustang concept. it's for Focus/Fusion/Mondeo. nice try though

Let boys join a man's conversation and there's always bound to be some dick waving. The big boys have learned to keep it tucked away until it's really needed.

Ya the 13 gt500 will trump the boss handily. That same gearing and tcs/lcs that makes the gt500 a rwd allstar at the drag strip will do amazing things on a road course. The 11 gt500 had trouble hooking up in 1st, 2nd and 3rd when randy did the comparo test with it and the z06/gtr. It kept spinning 1 tire on corner exit.

The Torsten, double adjustable shocks, and aforementioned gearing, tcs, and lc will easily get the gt500 around a track much faster than a boss.

Now also factor the '13 has huge braking upgrades, and no less than 112 more hp... Plus a carbon driveshaft that helps tremendously with accel/decel physics and static acceleration. The car has plenty of go fast updates.

It also has more downforce and better lift control. In short I could go on for another 500 words but the 2013 has more than enough go fast parts to surpass a boss and likely close that ~2 second gap between the zl1/boss.

Now how easy the common driver can exploit these beasts? The zl1 wins but that's to be expected. Pro vs pro, I think the savage gt500 does have the tools to have an edge but it's a matter of having the guts to manhandle a 662hp solid axel car right to its limits without mrc to ease the burden of undulations and unforgiving surfaces.

Why does the typical "this is a camaro forum" schpiel have to come up in the general automotive section?

If what you say is true, how come many of the main stream auto journalists now reporting Ford insiders are confirming next Mustang styling is based on Evos? You may be correct. If you are, it's the mother of all misleading by Ford.
