Thread Moved?....

Hi all,

I see quite a few threads in the "general camaro forums" that state "moved" but remain here for a bit.

Where do they go and how do you find them? As many know, doing a search of a word/title gets you 88 pages of related items not exactly what you were looking for.

I posted a question about Camaro fuel pumps and fuel filters and was out of town for 2 days and never have seen it again...

go to the advanced search options and type in your user name in the proper space and you will find your thread more quickly that way

If people would follow the rules you wouldn't have to see threads moved. I see threads posted in the wrong section more here than any other forum I go to.

+1.

I'm guessing the DYI section will become huge over the next few years as some start hitting the 100k mark.

This is true. However, if the search function didn't COMPLETELY SUCK...then maybe more people would be able to find old threads and not have to start a new one.

If you're looking for your own thread just click on your user name, Click statistics, then click all threads started by Tonyko1.

Also, google works perfectly for finding what you want on camaro5.
Just search "camaro5" followed by whatever you're looking for and it will find relevant searches on C5.

Thanks for the help, found it. There is a lot of threads in different sections folks. It is as bad sometimes as trying to find a webpage you got to through another webpage, that you found from another web page...

I'm not sure who moved the thread you are referring to, but... we do move a lot of threads to the proper forums.

With close to 70K members, it can get quite cluttered. If we left every thread here on the front page, and say even a thousand members were on and posting at the same time, threads would move so fast you would not be able to keep up with them, They would disappear off the front page in seconds...

As others have mentioned, you can click on your user name and then statistics and find any thread you have started or posted in... or if the thread is in the appropriate area, you can scroll down the page looking for the black dot that indicates you have posted in that thread...

There are a number of ways to search and as some have also mentioned, it isn't always the best... Some have a knack for it, others not so much...Throw me in the latter group... But I can usually find what I'm looking for... one way or another....

This thread for instance, should be in the feedback, questions area, at the bottom of the forum... So, I'm moving it and you will see a tag left behind for 24 hours that will lead you to it... We set the time for the link to remain, but most of us choose one day....

As you look down through the different forums, you will see most any subject covered... If there isn't one you need or you can find it, ask a mod via pm...

We certainly do not like doing this, but repeated instances of starting threads in the wrong area can lead to an infraction... We do give the benefit of doubt though...

Hope this helps...
